SmarTUBE is Pirelli's latest product in the inner tube category and is a continuation of Pirelli's efforts to improve performance in modern cycling.
It is the result of the development of World Tour tires, when this technology was transferred and adapted for use by ordinary cyclists with tires and inner tubes. The new inner tubes are made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), save you roughly 70% of the weight of ordinary inner tubes and take up 50% less space in your pockets. At the same time, they are more durable than pure butyl tubes.
SmarTUBE inner tubes have two significant advantages over butyl inner tubes: they reduce the rotating mass where it affects the most (the wheels), so your bike will be livelier with better acceleration and help you achieve better control and speed on climbs. Second, the soul saves space in your pockets (or bags and backpack), so you can fill that space with additional power sources and ride longer.
