Why use CO2 bombs instead of hand pumps?

If the hole in the tire is so big that the sealant can't seal it, the tube will lose all air pressure and usually the tire will pop off the rim, creating air gaps around the circumference of the tire bead. Anyone who has ever fitted tubeless tyres knows that getting enough air into the tyre to get the bead back on the rim isn't easy, even when you're in the comfort of your home workshop, let alone on the trail with a group of impatient mates - or worse - in the middle of a race.

Many people carry mini hand pumps, which are great for blowing a small amount of air on the trail after a slight loss of pressure. But you'd need forearms like Popeye the Sailor to put your tire foot back on! Without a doubt, the quickest and easiest way to get back into the game when riding on the trail is a CO2 bomber. Not only does it get you back in the saddle much faster than a hand pump, but it's much smaller and lighter.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Removing the air cap and checking the valve:
   Remove the valve cover and slightly loosen the inner valve pin.
2. Squeeze the loose valve pin and check that the valve is passable. You should hear air flow through the valve.
3. Frost protection:
   Cover the CO2 cartridge with the supplied protective sleeve with the bottom closed.
4. Screwing on the bombshell:
   Screw the CO2 cartridge completely into the head of the inflator. You may hear a faint hissing sound when the bomb is successfully pierced. If not, depress the valve briefly and you should hear the gas flow ("pssttt").
5. Inflating the tire:
   Push the head over the valve and push it straight down firmly to release the tire inflator and inflate the tire to the desired pressure. Release the inflator head to cut off the gas flow.
6. Finish:
   After inflating the tire, remove the inflator, retighten the valve pin and replace the valve cover.
7. Driving:
   You're ready to hit the road!
