Maxxis Minion is a legend among freeride and downhill tires. A standard that other competing tires struggle to come close to. With a tread design that deftly balances rolling speed with braking and cornering traction, it's no wonder why the Minion DHF is one of the most imitated tires in mountain biking. Whether you're riding local trails, backcountry epics, enduro racing or World Cup downhill, there's a Minion DHF specification to meet your needs.
The DHF can be used both front and rear (depending on trail conditions). It has excellent handling characteristics, in particular, it sits perfectly in corners and holds the trail well when going fast. It is designed for unpaved natural surfaces such as gravel, mud and dirt. Bevelled lugs in the centre of the tread reduce rolling resistance, cross grooves in the tread multiply the number of edges which hold better on unpaved surfaces.

the 3C MAXXTERRA is a medium triple compound configuration used in the Maxxiss line of mountain tires. The 3C MaxxTerra compound offers more traction than the 3C MaxxSpeed, but provides less tread wear and less rolling resistance than the MaxxGrip, making it ideal for trail riding in all conditions.
WIDE TRAIL (WT) construction optimizes the tire's tread layout and profile on today's modern, wider rims. Traditional tires are designed on older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tire profile, resulting in less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for a 35mm inner rim width, but have been proven to work in a range of 30 to 35mm inner rim widths, depending on rider preference.
The Maxxis Wide Trail XC tires are optimized for use with 30 mm inner rim widths, but will work well on rims narrower than 25 mm. Maxxis does not recommend rims wider than 30 mm or narrower than 25 mm
EXO+ is Maxxis' medium puncture protection option suitable for all-round trail riding and lightweight e-bikes. Added to the durable 60 TPI casing is Maxxis' legendary EXO puncture protection layer on the sidewalls, complemented by a small butyl insert around the rim. The tough casing and EXO material protects against damage from rocks and roots, while the butyl liner protects the tire from pinch flats and helps prevent rim damage.
TUBELESS READY (TR) tires are tubeless ready and provide many benefits to the rider: the ability to ride at lower pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance compared to a tubeless tire; and less chance of flattening because there is no tube. Tubeless tires are marked with the letters "TR" on the sidewall.
Tubeless tires must be mounted on tubeless rims and require the use of a liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added advantage of sealing small punctures. Be sure to check the sealant regularly and renew it as needed, as it will dry out over time.
