The material from which it is made is soft and therefore not built for mechanical loads, so we do not recommend using it with a backpack or pocket.

When we at Castelli created the first aero jersey for road racing in 2006, everyone thought we were crazy. Back then, aero was only used in triathlon. Back then, professional clothing just meant moisture management.

But you can only win the Tour de France with a jersey that's a little more than just a polyester t-shirt. Since our aerodynamic consultants anticipated small gains in speed, we named our jersey "Fraction of a Second," yet we figured it was worth pursuing. In the end the gains were quite substantial and so we started a revolution in pro peloton dressing.

We are now on our sixth major jersey revision. Each generation has become more airy and with a better fit. The Aero Race 6.0 has benefited greatly from CFD's aero analysis regarding fabric placement and seams at the riding position. Team Sky riders provide the same feedback, as we worked to ensure the jersey is comfortable throughout training and during races in all possible weather conditions. Version 6.0 is our most aero and comfortable jersey yet. But we are already working on version 6.1 ...
