The Campagnolo AFS (Axial Fitting System, identical to Shimano Central Lock) DB brake disc with a diameter of 140/160 mm and a width of 1.85 mm is made of stainless steel and is mounted on a duralumin 6-arm carrier. This solution offers an ideal compromise between stiffness, weight and heat dissipation resulting from intensive braking.
The disc with a diameter of 140 mm is intended exclusively for the rear brake, i.e. it cannot be placed in the front brake caliper.
Campagnolo placed great emphasis on safety and for this reason chose the circular shape of the disc, which is the safest from the point of view of possible injury. At the same time, it rounded the edge of the disc in such a way that at the moment Campagnolo discs can be considered the safest on the market.
Technical characteristics:
NOTE: Campagnolo brake discs are purposely manufactured to have slight play in the riveted joints (noticeable only if you move the braked wheel back and forth in place). This technical solution, referred to by Campagnolo as DFS (Disc Floating System), significantly helps to cool the disc.
